Red Lotus Restaurant in Auburn

Poor service! Waited 45 minutes for food. In that time nobody check on us for refills on drinks. It used to be a great restaurant but the last two visits here were horrible. Will not be returning.

Been coming here since the 70's. Quality Chinese every time?

This place nevers get outta date,meaning that its always a good choice if u love cantonese dishes!👏👏👏

The food was okay prices were a little high but not bad. I'm a little harder to judge because I am Asian it's catered more toward the area that it is in you can really taste the cornstarch in the food that's why such a average rating for me

A place my family has Enjoyed for Generations , Great people ! Great food! Not trendy , didn’t leave hungry ! Hungry after drive to Whidbey ! Left overs ! Best fried rice ever! I’m not Asian , but was a Navy brat then a 22 year sailor ! Had fried rice in many a place !

The food was excellent. I would have given 5 stars but they are open while undergoing renovation and entry is through the rear entry which was not clearly indicated when you entered the parking lot.

They were nice, but the food... nasty and I was first customer I am sure. Pork fried rice even smelt nasty. Took one bite of the chicken. Even the fortune cookies were gross! Waste of a $16 meal I ate nothing of it!

Used to come here as a kid because it was my Mom's favorite place. Seems like portion sizes have been reduced and the quality not as good as years past But I would still go back until I can find a place I like better.

It's been a few days since I have been, but...initial consideration would be that I had been here in 2013 and it was great, exceptional even...I am dismayed to have returned and was faced with one of the worst experiences I've ever had at this restaurant.Service ★ — In the time I was here, I was seen five times.Food ★ — Over salted, small portions, made me sick to my stomach before I even left the restaurant.Environment ★★ — Clean, homey, old rustic feel.Attention to Detail ★ — Food was served warm, but not "hot". It felt clear that the employees don't eat at the restaurant.Price ★ — Overpriced food for what you get. Again, the over saltiness, the temperature of the food, and the attention of the staff to patrons isn't worth the cost.Unrated Portion — They were doing pretty significant construction in front, so if you still choose to go, you'll need to park in the back.Overall, my recommendation is that you find another restaurant in the area and see if the quality is better.

Our first time, first for the good news : it’s a lot of food for the money. Lunch includes a generous bowl of egg flower soup, hot tea, and the entrée which includes chow mein and pork fried rice. Now for the less than good: the soup is glutinous; about the consistency of Jell-O pudding. The same is true about the sauces, very thick. We like the decor, old-school, but slightly more upscale. It’s a great bargain, but not the best Chinese food in the area. The service was very friendly.

The food was good but for a nearly empty restaurant the service was terrible. The bathrooms were filthy and made my shoes sticky. We had to wait 20 minutes before we saw anyone to pay and get boxes for our food. The food here us good but get it to go.

This place: I will drive to from where ever I am ! If you want Authentic Chinese food, this is the place!Their family friendly, food is OUTRAGEOUS, and the chefs there keep the Authenticity ! I love it! ♡

Not the best Chinese place but the regulars are quite good. Soups, BBQ pork, pork fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour anything.

Food was not what we expected. Not to say it was bad but we ordered and got a more cultural version of what we thought it would be. Wait was for food was long, but they cut the bill in half out of curiosity, which I found lovely. Seating was nice as was staff.

This is the worst restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. You know it’s going to be bad when you walk in on a Friday evening and it’s empty (pre Covid). They food tasted horrible and I got sick that night. I’ve heard people swear by this place, but I just don’t get the appeal.

Portions are great and tje food is really good too my family dines there as oftem as poss

Food is very tasty and plentiful with never-ending hot tea. You may have had some of these dishes before, but they taste better here. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable.

UDATE:DON'T EAT HERE!! Thought we gave this restaurant a second chance and support our community restaurant in Auburn. Crab Rangoon was soggy and doughy, the crispy chicken was burnt, the beef and broccoli tasted very old, and the plain rice has a grey shade to it. They refused to give our money back. A word of advice.. don't eat here or you might get sick from the old food they try to sell you.FIRST REVIEW:This atmosphere of this restaurant was dark and old. Waited for a few minutes at the counter to be seated, and never got greeted. I was unsure that I wanted to eat here because of the atmosphere. Ended up leaving.

Always a pleasure talking to the folks in the lounge. The drinks are what makes it worth while.

Best Chinese food in South King County. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Their food is very addictive!

The service was excellent, but the food...I had it better somewhere else

Chinese Chicken was great. I also ordered pork fried rice, crisp chow mein beef and both of these dishes really didn't have any meat in it. Very disappointed.

It seems to be for everybody else that the red lotus is a hit or miss depending on who's doing the cooking. I have been going to this restaurant most of my life. I can honestly say that I've not had hardly any misses or bad experiences and love taking my daughter here also :) it's a family favorite of ours and hope it is for yours also

I actually think the food is almost 2.5 stars. It's really just meh. I have not enjoyed the lounge, but many people do. Apparently they have a good strong pour. I've been twice, both times the meat is cheap cuts or very fatty. The fried rice was like day old, a bit dry and just all the way around, disappointing. There are too many good places, even Safeways Chinese is better. In a pinch... Okay.

This has been our go-to place for American style Chinese comfort food for years (like we used to get at Sunset in Renton in the 70's). The interior is wonderfully dated and the food is always good. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get with the dinners. Too bad they replaced the egg rolls with spring rolls tho.

Who ever James is that's taking calls is not helpful at all n was kinda rude please get the regular gal back to taking calls n is very helpful the food was not so great the pork was very dry you have to order for 2 get what you would for 1 n offer no soup that is supposed to come with meals it's definitely not what it used to be wish I could add photos but won't.let me

This throwback Chinese restaurant is quaint and tasty. Inside is dark and 50s decor. Staff are very helpful and the portions are large. You can't go wrong with a meal here!

Rice was a little dry but the variety of food you get and general quality was good. Our server made a few too many assumptions, but it didnt ruin my life. Would recommend.

Of course the food is great, but take out orders are just as thorough as dining in. Great food and great customer service is hard to come by! Tanya was extra helpful and patient with my questions.

Their wings and fried rice are my go to here. All food is delicious and you can order to go. The bar here was one of the reasons I stopped by to, good drinks, friendly patrons and cool staff.

The food here is pretty good. We tried a variety of items with the family meal and although one of them was not great (some seafood item)the rest were top notch. The waitress was nice but ended up adding on a side of fries to my kids order and charging us even after I mentioned it was a mistake. This place has been around forever and is always a solid staple of auburn.

Not that great of wings dry kinda over done.The drinks are good Try the Phury its melon an tequila taste to it.The Red Lotus chow is excellent.Not bad Chinese food.

I have visited this restaurant my entire life. Never any complaints but my recent visit was horrible. The wait time for food was very long and food was not hot. Waitress seemed very confused and messed up the order. She never stopped at our table so I couldn’t get my food corrected. Extremely disappointed

I’ve been eating at Red Lotus many many years. The staff is always friendly and we always get a table. We’ve never waited too long for our food, but the food has not tasted the same for awhile now. I think it’s whoever is cooking now. It’s just below average now when it was always excellent. I’m sure we will still drop in once in awhile. Maybe it’ll be excellent again on the next visit 😊
